DESCRIPTION:A special movie for Fathers Day Weekend\n\nThe Phantom Flyer (
 aka The Phantom Ranger) is a 1928 American silent western and aviation fi
 lm directed by Bruce M Mitchell and starring Al Wilson\, Lillian Gilmore a
 nd Buck Connors. The film was produced and distributed by the Universal Pi
 ctures. Phantom Flyer was one of a series of films that showcased the expl
 oits of the stunt pilots in Hollywood.\n\nSYNOPSIS - Farmer James Crandall
  (Buck Connors) is homesteading on a western tract with the aid of his dau
 ghter\, Mary (Lillian Gilmore)\, his son\, Nick (Billy "Red" Jones)\, and 
 Isabella (Myrtis Crinley)\, an orphan girl. Rancher Julia Hart (Mary Cornw
 allis)\, is in a struggle with the Crandalls over the water rights of her 
 ranch.\n\nMary catches Julia's men running brands on their cattle and afte
 r running away from them\, is rescued by Dick Stanton (Al Wilson)\, a bord
 er patrol aviator\, who agrees to help her. One of Hart's gang\, Joe Calve
 rt (Larry Steers) shoots Nick in an attempted raid and sabotages her aircr
 aft\, loosening a wheel that will fall off in mid-air.\n\nDick flies to Ma
 ry's aid\, taking with him a replacement wheel that he attaches while hang
 ing from the landing gear in the air. Together they bring a doctor for Nic
 k.\n\nWhen Crandall discovers that his "first entry" papers have been stol
 en\, Dick goes to the Hart ranch to investigate. Crandall is forced to sig
 n a quit-claim deed\, but Dick arrives just as Calvert abducts Mary in an 
 aircraft. "Slim" Decker (Don Fuller) flies with Dick and a battle takes pl
 ace in the sky. Calvert falls to his death while Julia ultimately relinqui
 shes her claim to the Crandall deed\, and\, finally there is peace.\n\nDoo
