DESCRIPTION:The Dragon Painter is a 1919 American silent romantic drama fil
 m. It is based on the novel of the same name\, written by Mary McNeil Feno
 llosa. It stars Sessue Hayakawa as a young painter who believes that his f
 iancée (played by Hayakawa's wife Tsuru Aoki)\, is a princess who has bee
 n captured and turned into a dragon. It was directed by William Worthingto
 n and filmed in Yosemite Valley\, Yosemite National Park and in the Japane
 se Tea Garden in Coronado\, California.\nThe Dragon Painter was restored i
 n 1988 by the American Film Institute with George Eastman Museum and MoMA.
  In 2014\, the film was added to the National Film Registry for being "cul
 turally\, historically\, or aesthetically significant".\nDoors and bar ope
