  crime that could embroil him in international scandal\, debonair super-sl
 euth Sherlock Holmes comes to his aid\, and quickly discovers that behind 
 the incident lurks a criminal mastermind eager to reduce Western civilizat
 ion to anarchy.\n\nThe film was considered lost for decades\, but was redi
 scovered in the mid-1970s and restored by George Eastman House. It was wri
 tten by Earle Browne and Marion Fairfax from the 1899 play by William Gill
 ette and Arthur Conan Doyle based upon Doyle's characters\, and was produc
 ed by Goldwyn Pictures Corporation. \n\nDoors &amp\; bar open at 11am. Cof
