DESCRIPTION:OPEN HOUSE is back at the Majestic in 2025. If you’ve ever wo
 ndered what goes on behind the scenes at a theatre or you’re interested 
 in old movie cameras\, projectors\, movie memorabilia\, deco buildings\, o
 rgans or a slice of QLD history then head to the Majestic Theatre Pomona o
 n Saturday 18th October for Open House 2025. The doors are open from 10am 
 to 4pm.\n\nTWO FREE SHORT SILENT FILMS AT 12 NOON - Two comedies “Laurel
  &amp\; Hardy Build a House" starring Stan Laurel &amp\; Oliver Hardy from
  1928 and "One Week” about a flat pack house starring Buster Keaton from
  1920. Movie duration approximately 20 minutes each film. Accompanied by m
 aestro Chris Rose live on the 1937 Compton Organ.\n\nFREE GUIDED TOURS - O
 n offer at 10.30am\, 11am\, 11.30am and then following the movie at 1.30pm
 \, 2pm &amp\; 2.30pm and 3pm.  You can register to do a free guided tour 
 by clicking 'Book Now' above. Be quick as there are limited spaces for eac
 h tour and they fill quickly. On your tour you will see how it all works b
 ack stage\, see the organ bellow and our beautiful Green Room\, our wall o
 f famous signatures and also view the pipe chamber for the 1937 Compton Or
 gan. We might even throw in some ghost stories. Or you can do your own gui
 ded tour with our information hand out.\n\nBIO BOX MOVIE MUSEUM - We just 
 completed our mini movie &amp\; projector museum in the ‘bio box’ and 
 its stuffed full of old movie memorabilia and projectors\, including our r
 ecently purchased 1913 Powers Projector which was the first projector used
  at the Majestic.\n\nRUNNING PROJECTOR IN THE MAIN HALL - You can check ou
 t an old Hanimex 8mm film running in the main hall and also stage displays
  of yesteryear.\n\nDon't miss this great opportunity to see this century o
 ld heritage listed theatre\, steeped in history and an icon of Queensland.
 \n\nWe have a licensed bar for coffee and tea and refreshments and snacks.
  A merch bar to purchase some memorabilia or you can just soak up the atmo
 sphere while enjoying a refreshment at the Ron West Bar ..... you never kn
 ow\, you might meet one of our ghosts !!
