DESCRIPTION:\n\nJoin us in July as we welcome a jazz concert with infectiou
 s Latin American rhythms!\n\n\nAfro-Cuban jazz is rhythmically based on Cu
 ban popular dance music with a rhythm section employing ostinato patterns 
 or a clave and mixing it with the vibrant colors of old Havana.\n\nThe dyn
 amic jazz of Cuba and Latin America comes to the Jazz club with Canta La T
 umba in concert. A unique blend of vocals\, supported by striking strings\
 , drums and bright brass interludes that evoke the playful vibe of the tro
 pics.\n\nAfro-Brazilian jazz includes sambas and bossa nova rhythms as per
 formed by Stan Getz and Antona Carlos Jobim.\n\nWhat makes Brazilian jazz 
 so special is its irresistible rhythm and melodic complexity. The syncopat
 ed beats of samba and bossa nova are layered with jazz improvisation\, cre
 ating a rich and dynamic sound.\n\nMeet the Musicians...\n\nAfro-Percussio
 nist and vocalist Natalie Richy\, Guitarist singer Murray Wall\, Double Ba
 ss Nik Davey and Drummer\, ‘Chicken George’ Downes from the Bahamas se
 ts pulsing Caribbean beats for dancing in rumba and samba settings.  The 
 sound is then completed by the rich colour and tone of Stephen Ewart’s e
 nergetic trumpet lines that are woven throughout the music.  \n\nThe Can
 ta La Tumba musicians will enchant\, with their evocative repertoire inclu
 ding a sprinkle of the World-famous Buena Vista Social Club\, Jazz from Cu
 ba.\n\n\nDoors and Bar 12pm. Show 1pm - 3:30pm.\n\n\n\n\n\n
