DESCRIPTION:Snub Pollard - Born in Melbourne in 1989 worked his way from pe
 rforming in kids vaudevillian shows in Australia to Hollywood USA. He work
 ed in Hollywood until his death in 1962 and had bit parts in hundreds of m
 ovies. Including 'Singin in the Rain"\, "Miracle on 34th Street" and Frank
  Capra's "A Pocket full of Miracles". His last film in 1961 was "Who Shot 
 Liberty Valance". For his contributions to motion pictures\, Pollard has a
  star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6415½ Hollywood Boulevard.\n\nIts 
 a Gift synopsis - A group of oil magnates are trying to think of new ways 
 to attract business. One of them suggests that they contact an eccentric i
 nventor (Pollard)\, who has devised a new gasoline substitute. The invento
 r himself lives in a home filled with his strange inventions. When he gets
  the message from the oil company\, he is excited about the opportunity to
  demonstrate his innovation\, and jumps into his "magnet car".\n\nOther si
 lent comedies - We will feature other surprise short films on the day.\n\n
 Some trivia -The most famous sequence in "Its a Gift" shows Pollard using 
 a large magnet to put his car into motion. The sequence in which Pollard a
 ppears from around the corner and observes the multi-car collision was use
 d on Sesame Street in an educational film about traffic lights\, which pre
 miered in the first episode of the show's second season in the fall of 197
